Join us to discover traditional skills and contemporary practice
Through demonstration, discussion, and practice, students in this in-person class will gain an understanding of how the science of light can be harnessed along with their perceptual awareness to produce convincing works of figurative art.
In this class students will learn my specific process for approaching portrait painting. We will cover how to draw faces, how to do an underpainting, rendering a painting area by area, and how to optimally manipulate oil paint.
This introductory Figure Drawing course is structured on the three fundamental aspects that artists interested in drawing the human figure should know and practice: Anatomy, Cast Drawing, and drawing the figure from life.
