Join us to discover traditional skills and contemporary practice
This class will focus on painting flowers and other botanicals in their natural environment using “direct” painting techniques: mixing our colors carefully and applying the paint with expressive, impasto brushstrokes.
PurchaseThis course immerses beginner and advanced artists in a drawing practice in which they will be observing and understanding the mark-making of select master drawings. It focuses primarily, but not exclusively on the human figure.
This class unites good drawing and value structure with a conceptual focus on the figure through digitally altered images.
Indirect painting focuses on the Old Master techniques of optical mixing and layering of oil paints. In this class, students will have an introduction on how to construct an oil painting with indirect painting techniques.
