Class Description:

A two-day intensive workshop focused on composition and color as tools for visual storytelling.

Drawing from cinematic framing and classical painting principles, the workshop explores how intentional structure transforms images from documentation into psychological narrative. Through lectures, demonstrations, and guided studio practice, participants will develop a painting from underdrawing to color resolution. Topics include spatial hierarchy, rule of thirds, symmetry, one-point perspective, leading lines, negative space, and the expressive role of foreground elements. Emphasis is placed on how color, light, and atmosphere reinforce compositional intent and emotional clarity. The workshop is designed for painters seeking a practical and conceptual framework they can apply to their ongoing studio practice.
