This course explores the fundamental elements of drawing and oil painting from direct observation.
In this online version of the class, students will learn my specific process for approaching portrait painting. We will cover how to draw faces, how to do an underpainting, rendering a painting area by area, and how to optimally manipulate oil paint.
In this course students will explore the rich history of still-life painting with a focus on the techniques and strategies derived from the Dutch Golden Age.
