Class Description:

Este curso examina las diferentes dinámicas del color y como este afecta la imagen. (This course examines the different dynamics of color and how it affects the image.)

Los estudiantes se verán enfrentados a cómo empezar una pintura y trabajarla desde su composición, manejando una escala tonal que jerarquiza la imagen, hasta llegar a diferenciar e implementar paletas limitadas y colores complementarios. (This course examines the different dynamics of color and how it affects the image. Students will be confronted with how to start a painting and work from its composition managing a tonal scale that hierarchizes the image to differentiate and implement limited palettes and complementary colors.) **Note: this class will be taught exclusively in Spanish.

Meet Your Instructor

Carolina Amarillo

Instructor

Born in 1996, Carolina Amarillo is a Colombian Visual Artist from Bogotá. She received her Bachelor's in Fine Arts from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Colombia in 2020. In 2022, she received her Master of Fine Arts from the New York Academy of Art in Painting with an Anatomy track. She lives in New York City and works as the Assistant Director of Continuing Studies at the New York Academy of Art. Amarillo has shown her work in Albuquerque (NM), New York City, and Bogota, Colombia.
