Whether you’re just starting out or looking to get back into artmaking, this class will help you develop and hone the building blocks of your practice. Each week focuses on a different foundational skill that can be applied to still life, the figure, and interiors. Learn to problem solve while drawing and painting with a fundamental understanding of concepts relating to line, form, perspective, composition, light, and color temperature, as well as the basic materials needed to execute these concepts. Furthermore students will engage in discussions of creative inspiration and be pushed to search within for their personal voice. The classes compile overall into a comprehensive knowledge of how to develop a strategy for observational painting and drawing. Students will leave with the necessary building blocks to approach their future artistic endeavors with clarity and enthusiasm.
