Join us to discover traditional skills and contemporary practice
This class examines the language and techniques of watercolor painting from the figure. Students will paint using a variety of strategies derived from current and historical practice.
In this class students will learn my specific process for approaching portrait painting. We will cover how to draw faces, how to do an underpainting, rendering a painting area by area, and how to optimally manipulate oil paint.
Through demonstration, discussion, and practice, students in this in-person class will gain an understanding of how the science of light can be harnessed along with their perceptual awareness to produce convincing works of figurative art.
