Class Description:

Explore the timeless art of academic figure drawing.

This course is designed to introduce students to the fundamentals of capturing the human form with precision, grace, and artistic expression. Guided by the principles of classical artistry, students will explore anatomy, gesture, proportion, and composition. Strong drawing skills are the foundation of all visual art. Everything we achieve in painting is ultimately limited by how well we can draw. In this course we will focus on building the most essential skills for any artist: observation, proportion, structure, and clear organization of light and shadow. Students will work from the live model, receive individual guidance according to their level and experience, and observe instructor demonstrations throughout the course.

Konstantin Rudnichenko

Instructor

Konstantin Rudnichenko is a Ukrainian artist based in NYC. He studied at the Art Students League of New York with various teachers including: Leonid Gervits, Robin Smith and Harvey Dinnerstein. His paintings are represented in numerous public, private and corporate collections. Through his works he depicts the very essence of the subject capturing exquisite likeness and luminosity. Konstantin is deeply influenced by the old master's works serving as both a foundation and source of inspiration for the artist's distinctive style. He remains deeply committed to his craft, continually refining his technique while exploring new avenues of artistic expression.
