Join us to discover traditional skills and contemporary practice
This class will focus on painting flowers and other botanicals up-close in all their detailed glory. Botanical subjects give a painter every possible challenge to work with: color, pattern, transparency, volume, and texture.
PurchaseTake a deep dive into the fantastical yet logical world of color. By finding your perception of color through observation, you will learn to develop a path towards intuitive color mixing in relation to color theory.
In this online version of the class, students will learn my specific process for approaching portrait painting. We will cover how to draw faces, how to do an underpainting, rendering a painting area by area, and how to optimally manipulate oil paint.
This course immerses beginner and advanced artists in a drawing practice in which they will be observing and understanding the mark-making of select master drawings. It focuses primarily, but not exclusively on the human figure.
