Learn essential concepts such as proportional accuracy, rhythmic line, temperature, and value, while discovering how toned paper can enhance depth and variety in your artwork. Each session begins with a demonstration of key techniques, providing you with the groundwork needed to master portrait drawing.  Following the demonstration, you will have the opportunity to practice these techniques with individual feedback from our instructor. Casey Krawczyk

Instructor

Casey Krawczyk (b. 1978) is earned her B.F.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Superior and her M.F.A. from the New York Academy of Art (NYAA). Currently residing in Upstate New York, Casey was significantly influenced by her upbringing in rural Minnesota and the prominent Finnish and Indigenous cultures of the region, which encouraged a deep connection to nature. Her work presents a harmonious blend of meticulous detail and a profound connection with nature, reflecting her diverse background and artistic education. Casey has several years of teaching experience; she was a professor at Western State Colorado for 8 years before returning to the northeast to raise her family, focus on painting, and continue to share her love of teaching through workshops. Her work can be seen at Robert Lange Studios in Charleston, SC, Peter Jung Fine Arts in Hudson, NY and Keating Fine Art in Basalt, CO.
