Join us to discover traditional skills and contemporary practice
This class will focus on painting flowers and other botanicals in their natural environment using “direct” painting techniques: mixing our colors carefully and applying the paint with expressive, impasto brushstrokes.
In this class, students will learn the fundamentals of oil painting. Through a series of projects done from prints of masterworks, we will consider foundational topics of observational drawing and painting.
In this class, students will learn how to paint different skin tones using one limited palette. Over this six week course we will paint two portraits from photographs, using models with different skin colors.
