Class Description:

Designed for the artist that wants to reach the next level of expertise and refinement when drawing the figure accurately.

This human anatomy overview is of interest to the artist desiring an essential overview of the human anatomy or seeking a starting point into the study of the human anatomy. Anatomical and structural study are directly linked to the practice of figure drawing. Students learn proportion, skeletal structure, landmarks of the body, superficial anatomy, and external forms. Applying the acquired anatomical knowledge toward the practice of figure drawing and the exploration of fundamental drawing techniques students create full anatomical charts from multiple views. Students explore fundamental drawing techniques—graphite on paper, charcoal and chalk on toned paper, and the trois crayons technique.
