In this course, students will explore the tradition of self-portraiture from a contemporary perspective. Students will learn how artists have depicted the self throughout history and be exposed to contemporary artists who work auto-biographically.

This course immerses students in the culture and craft of linocut - a relief printmaking method. Students are guided through a brief history of the medium, its unique features, and introduced to historical and emerging artists working in the medium.
In-Person: Demystifying Portrait Painting - Spring 2024Course
In this class students will learn my specific process for approaching portrait painting. We will cover how to draw faces, how to do an underpainting, rendering a painting area by area, and how to optimally manipulate oil paint.
