Class Description:

Understanding light is the key to bringing your oil paintings to life.

Discover simple strategies and methods to create a successful still life painting from direct observation. We will start with thinking about light and then develop methods for rendering the sultry surfaces of various objects. If you can paint a successful still life, you can master any object or surface this world has to offer! This class is about developing technique while not sacrificing expression. We will look at examples from history and contemporary artists to draw inspiration from. Explore various styles while sharpening your technical abilities.
