Class Description:

Focus on gaining an understanding of the fundamental principles of figure sculpture by working from a live model.

Structure, anatomy, proportions and gesture will be discussed. Students will hone their observational skills, strengthening the connection between their eyes, hands, and mind. The class is open to both new and more experienced sculptors who wish to deepen their understanding of figure sculpture.

Meet Your Instructor

Yupin Pramotepipop

Instructor

Yupin Pramotepipop is a New York based artist. Her art includes recycled FGR plaster works, knot series of sculptures, drawing and prints, figurative painting, sculptures, and photography. A few years after getting a BBA degree in Advertising Management from Ramkhumhaeng University, Yupin began taking continuing education classes in drawing and painting. In 1991, she moved to New York and studied at the Art Students League of New York where she received Certificates in both Sculpture and Painting. In 2004, Yupin earned an MFA from the New York Academy of Art, majoring in Sculpture. Yupin’s sculptures were included in Sculpture Walk outdoor exhibitions and Partner Networks in Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin and South Dakota. She also exhibited in shows at the National Museum of Sports (The Art Students League of New York), the National Museum for Women in the Arts (CLAWC), the Hunterdon Museum of Art, Williamsburg Art & Historical Center, National Sculpture Society and more. She received awards from the Art Students League of New York, the National Sculpture Society, and the New York Academy of Art, among others. She has been featured in Sculpture Review, the Argusleader Newspaper, the National Sculpture Society News Bulletin, the Santa Fe El Norte, the Sunday Republican, and Linea.
