Class Description:

Discover the beauty of combining landscape painting with watercolor in this exciting course designed for painters of all levels.

Watercolor is one of the most versatile and forgiving mediums for creating stunning representational art, especially when paired with the expressive qualities of landscapes. This course offers a unique opportunity to explore a wide range of proven watercolor techniques that help solve the visual challenges presented by landscapes. Watercolor is not only incredibly accessible—it’s also portable, easy to set up and clean, and completely non-toxic, making it the ideal medium for artists at any stage of their creative journey. Whether you're a beginner or a more experienced painter, this course provides a supportive environment to develop new skills and refine your technique. Learn from the masters—works by renowned artists such as John Singer Sargent, Thomas Moran, and Georgia O'Keeffe will be analyzed to uncover the secrets behind their successful watercolor landscapes. Students will develop an understanding of how these artists use loose rendering, embrace imperfections, and incorporate subtle nuances that give their paintings life and movement. Throughout the course, you'll start by mastering fundamental watercolor techniques and a limited color palette. As you progress, you'll build a deeper understanding of color vibrancy, tonal depth, and textural complexity. By the end, you'll have the skills to create dynamic landscapes and even copy a masterwork, plus experience the excitement of painting outdoors en plein air. This course blends beginner, intermediate, and advanced techniques in a comprehensive journey through watercolor landscapes—perfect for those eager to grow their skills while enjoying the creative process. There's so much to explore, and every lesson will leave you inspired!
