Class Description:

Practice, experiment, receive personalized feedback, and become part of a supportive artistic community during this weekly 3 hour session working from a live model at the New York Academy of Art.

This class is designed as an extended studio work session where artists can develop drawings or paintings through sustained observation. Students are welcome to work in oils, watercolor, colored pencil, charcoal, graphite, or any other preferred medium while strengthening their observational skills, anatomical understanding, and technical confidence. Throughout each session, instructor German Tellez will provide individualized guidance and feedback based on each participant's goals and experience level. Rather than rotating through short poses, the class focuses on continuous long poses, with the model holding the same pose for either two or four consecutive weeks. This extended format gives students the opportunity to study the figure in greater depth and produce more resolved, thoughtful work. The class welcomes artists of all experience levels. Whether you are a complete beginner looking to establish a regular creative practice or an experienced artist seeking dedicated time to work from a live model, this session offers a focused, supportive environment in which to develop your skills.
