Class Description:

An in-depth exploration of portrait sculpting from live observation, focusing on ceramic hand-building techniques.

Students will engage in critical analysis of form and spatial relationships as they develop their work. The course will begin with short poses and gesture studies in clay, followed by an extended pose project that will continue for the remainder of the session. Students are encouraged to refine their work through the firing process in the kiln at the conclusion of the course.
