Join us to discover traditional skills and contemporary practice
In this online version of the class, students will learn my specific process for approaching portrait painting. We will cover how to draw faces, how to do an underpainting, rendering a painting area by area, and how to optimally manipulate oil paint.
Enjoy gaining a foundation in understanding the structure and solidity of the human head. CFA and MFA Faculty member Manu Saluja will guide you through proportion, color theory, and mixing flesh tones as you create a portrait in your home studio.
Indirect painting focuses on the Old Master techniques of optical mixing and layering of oil paints. In this class, students will have an introduction on how to construct an oil painting with indirect painting techniques.
