PurchaseThis class will focus on painting flowers and other botanicals in their natural environment using “direct” painting techniques: mixing our colors carefully and applying the paint with expressive, impasto brushstrokes.
In this online version of the class, students will learn my specific process for approaching portrait painting. We will cover how to draw faces, how to do an underpainting, rendering a painting area by area, and how to optimally manipulate oil paint.
In this class, students will learn the fundamentals of oil painting. Through a series of projects done from prints of masterworks, we will consider foundational topics of observational drawing and painting.
