Join us to discover traditional skills and contemporary practice
In this class, students will learn how to paint different skin tones using one limited palette. Over this six week course we will paint two portraits from photographs, using models with different skin colors.
This class will cover gestural techniques exploring motion, posture, and proportion, the skeletal structures of vertebrate animals, and refined drawing methods to capture the surface textures found in the animal kingdom.
This course immerses beginner and advanced artists in a drawing practice in which they will be observing and understanding the mark-making of select master drawings. It focuses primarily, but not exclusively on the human figure.
