Bundle description

This bundle includes the tools you need to build a foundation for understanding oil painting with an approach that is straightforward, incremental and easy to follow. Starting at the very beginning with a simple line drawing, follow along to learn how to paint primitive solids, a cast painting, and finally a still life in color. By working in monochrome in the first two courses, learn techniques that will help you understand how light affects objects, how to identify the shadow shapes and how to build an incremental value structure. In the last course, explore the world of color with a more detailed composition using a palette of primary colors that will simplify color mixing.

  • Construct geometric forms in black and white

  • Understand contour and value with cast painting

  • Learn color mixing through painting a still life
