Class Description:

This class is a good starting point for the artist that wants to seriously pursue watercolor.

Watercolor can be a very rewarding technique but in order to obtain fresh and expressive paintings, one should become acquainted with its fundamentals: washes, gradations, glazes, wet on wet, wet on dry, drybrush, materials. In this class we will investigate a variety of foundational watercolor techniques.

Roberto Osti

Instructor

Roberto Osti moved to the United States from his native Bologna, Italy in 1992 where he received his Diploma in Art at the State Institute of Art, and his Degree in Anatomical/Surgical Drawing, with honors, at the University of Bologna. In 2007 he received his Masters of Fine Art at the New York Academy of Art where he has also been teaching since 2010. Roberto Osti is the author of the books “Basic Human Anatomy” and “Dynamic Human Anatomy”, both published by The Monacelli Press-Phaidon, and the video “Human Anatomy for the Artist” with Craftsy. His artworks have been exhibited, among other venues, at The Drawing Center NYC), DFN Projects (NYC) Garvey Symon (NYC) Flowers Gallery (NYC), Sloan Fine Art (NYC), Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PA), Gallery of Modern Art in Bologna (Italy), and Museo Palazzo Pogg in Bologna (Italy).
