Class Description:

Students will gain a better understanding and confidence in using gesture, proportion and structure when blocking in the figure.

This class unites good drawing and value structure with a conceptual focus on the figure through digitally altered images. It will be driven by two processes for creating the human form, first the use of an drawing with graphite, charcoal and a variety of tools, and secondly by transitioning from this process to a grisaille painting over a shellacked drawing. In class we will complete two figure using these two different techniques.
